As a Programming Intern, you will be placed in one of our engineering teams and be mentored by some of our experienced engineers. You will work with large-scale, distributed systems which form parts of our real-time simulation platform. Interns will be given a challenging project or join a team supporting critical work, decided on by our Technical Directors, depending on what is best suited to their skills and interests.

Your internship might include...

  • Working with our studio team to build new gaming features, from either an infrastructure or game programming perspective
  • Working with our studio team in ensuring the stability of the game through the development of automated testing frameworks
  • Assisting with building and deploying of software assemblies
  • Leveraging game analytics including performance data like frame rate (fps) and stability via telemetry, QA systems, benchmark tests, and other sources to inform decision making and optimize automation systems.
  • Supporting the engineering team with a variety of technical solutions
  • Working directly alongside other gameplay programmers and assisting in delivering releases and milestones
  • Delivering gameplay features under the direction of programming leadership
  • We expect all members of our teams to self-identify skills and abilities that they can learn in order to improve and bolster the team

We'd like to hear from you if you have...

  • A passion for gaming and a desire to break into the industry!
  • An excellent academic record, ideally coupled with extracurricular activities and/or co-op terms in a software/gaming environment
  • Knowledge of multiple programming languages and paradigms (such as C++, Python, etc.)
  • Some experience or interest in game engines (e.g. Unreal or Unity)
  • Demonstrable interest and passion for growth (e.g. personal projects, blogs, Open Source projects, etc.)
Note:

This is a paid internship for 2022 with a flexible start date.

COVID-19 Studio Guidelines
The health, safety, and well-being of our team members is of the utmost importance to our studio. As such, we have transitioned to remote work by default until a time at which we can safely return to the office. This means that all interviews, "onsite" interviews, office tours, and onboarding will be done over videoconference (or phone).
We also recognize the impact the pandemic is having on all of us personally, and work hard to create a culture where mental health and wellness are valued and supported. If you have any questions or concerns about our studio policy, please don't hesitate to raise them with your recruiter.
